Emancipation Day er en officiel ferie i Washington DC. Det er fejret med en parade og hylder årsdagen for underskrivelsen af DC Compensated Emancipation Act, som frigjorde 3.100 slaveri og endte slaveri i DC den 16. april 1862. Offentlige embedsmænd, skoler og samfundsgrupper mødes til en familievenlig begivenhed . Nyd de følgende billeder og få et glimt af paraden.

Dato og tid
Lørdag den 8. april 2017 - 1-3 pm (Bemærk på grund af påske er begivenhederne flyttet op i ugen) Arrangementet er planlagt samme dag og følger National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade.

Parade Route
Paraduten starter ved 800 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW og slutter ved John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Washington DC
